Ryan Gibson Photography
I'm an amateur photographer from Essex, captivated by the stunning landscapes, seascapes, and diverse wildlife of Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk. My camera is my passport to new places, and I love nothing more than exploring the UK and beyond, one photograph at a time.
Photography is more than a hobby for me—it's a journey of discovery. I'm always looking to refine my skills, whether it's mastering a new technique or finding a fresh perspective. I believe the best way to learn is by doing, which is why I'm always happy to share what I've learned with those just starting out.
My advice to aspiring photographers is simple: don't get caught up in gear. The most important tool is your eye and your passion. Learn the craft first, then upgrade your equipment as your skills and needs evolve.
Join me on my photographic adventures and let's explore the world together.
My Gear
Canon R7
Upgraded to this Mirrorless camera last year. I was previously using the Canon 200d. I love the features, size and weight of this camera. I’m glad I choose this beast.
Canon 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
This is my most favourite lens. This is the lens you will see on my camera 85% of the time. It’s my go to landscape and seascape lens. Even though it’s not a professional lens it still produces fantastic images.
Canon 24-70 f/2.8L II USM
I use this lens from time to time, but considering selling it and replacing it with the Canon 70-200mm version.
Canon 50mm f/1.8
So lightweight and easy to carry around. Mainly use this for any portraits or close up animal pictures. Otherwise this generally lives in my camera bag.
Sigma 150-600mm f5-6.3 Contemporary DG OS HSM
This lens is an absolute beast and my wildlife go to. I have shot some fantastic bird images including Puffins from my trip to Skomer island. It is rather heavy so bear that in mind if you are thinking of purchasing.
DJI Mini 2
Love this drone but it does need upgrading. I’m thinking of purchasing the DJI Mini 4 pro mainly for the larger sensor and image quality. But I have to say this little drone has been immense and comes everywhere with me.
DJI Neo
Bought this little drone mainly for behind the scenes video, reels etc
It's a good little tool but will never replace my main drone.
K&F Concept Tripod
I don’t spend a lot of money on my tripods, I don’t use them enough to have a expensive one. This is the second tripod I have owned and its perfect for my needs. Especially as it folds up into a very compact size.
